Acqua del Garda is created from the essence of a magical place and from the scents of its land and fruits.
The Grape of Garda road consists of a 70 km journey on the Moreniche Hills, where autochthon grapes are produced: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. From these, it is extracted the Bardolino wine.
The reference points of this itinerary are the locations where the wine is produced: Bardolino, Lazise, Affi, Costermano and Garda. A road that is to be crossed every season, by car, on foot or by bicycle. This road passes through a landscape of rare beauty, immerged in the green of the hills and in the blue of the lake. It is a journey in which you are able to rediscover emotions and experiences that only unique locations can give.
The road of Bardolino Wine from Bardolino to Garda
The road of the Bardolino Wine has recently become a touristic phenomenon. It consists of a 70 km trail passing through 16 villages of the oriental coast of Lake Garda. On the Moreniche Hills, the Autochthon grapes Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara are produced. From these, the Bardolino is extracted. The reference points of this itinerary are the locations where the wine is produced: Bardolino, Lazise, Affi, Costermano and Garda. A road that is to be crossed every season, by car, on foot or by bicycle. This road passes through a landscape of rare beauty, immerged in the green of the hills and in the blue of the lake. The Bardolino’s fame is linked to the Bardolino wine DOC- fruit of a fertile and generous land and its mild climate- appreciated not only here in Italy, but also abroad. This suggestive locality is located on the Veronese side of the lake and preserves the typical conformation and architecture of the original Fishermen’s villages, revealing its past and the activities that used to characterizeits economy before it became popular with tourists. The remains of the Scaliger’s city walls with its thick towers, ancient castle, elegant buildings and the beautiful San Severo and San Zeno’s churches, testify the succession of the emperors, monks and noble families.
While the Venetian imprint is very distinctive in Lazise, proceeding towards the north, we find Affi, based at the feet of Mount Moscal. In the 7th Century, this area was well-known for the red wine “Famaloso”, similar to the nowadays famous Recioto Della Valpolicella. At the feet of Mount Baldo, we find Costermano that welcomes tourist with its luxury residences which includes the Becelli Palace. If you want to take a walk in the nature and rural world, you just need to get to Molini’s Valley. Here, you can find an old windmill built in the 6th Century. Finally we can visit Garda with its characteristic Harbour. This is an ancient town where, in the past, people used to finalise the wine by using natural cavities called “Canevini”.
The grape: a natural ally for health and beauty
Grape: has highly detoxifying and rejuvenating properties. Very important and therefore essential, is the grape seed and the precious oil contained in them. Each grape seed contains a concentration of active ingredients which are able to contrast skin ageing signs. A peculiar characteristic of the grape seed oil is the vast amount of polyphenols – highly antioxidant.
In addition, the grape seeds contain a lot of calcium, phosphor and flavonoids which hydrate, smooth and have an antioxidant action. They perform a hydrant, smoothing and antioxidant action. Finally, the oil contained in the grape seeds has astringent properties and performs a toning and stimulant action of microcirculation of the capillaries.
